What Makes Invisalign Braces Different? langley invisalign dentist

Invisalign orthodontics offers many features that traditional braces cannot provide. While both clear and metal braces realign teeth, Invisalign trays offer patients with the following benefits:

  • Invisible Design – Metal brackets and wires are obvious. While this may not be an aesthetic problem for young patients, many adults and teens feel self-conscious about their appearance and avoid the visibility of traditional braces. Invisalign trays are made from virtually invisible plastic; your smile will appear natural while undergoing treatment.
  • Increased Comfort – The smooth plastic aligner trays are comfortable to wear and easy to live with. Invisalign doesn't involve metal brackets and wires that can irritate your mouth.
  • Convenience – Because the aligners are removable, patients can continue eating all foods, brushing, and flossing normally. Patients do not have to brush and floss around bonded metal hardware. They do not worry about damaging brackets and wires with hard or sticky foods.

  • If your dental alignment problems are mild to moderate, Invisalign braces are a cosmetic solution that can achieve results comparable to metal braces.

Invisalign Clear Aligners In Langley At Saidi Dental Group

To get started on a path to a straighter smile, Dr Jin welcomes new and returning patients for an oral health consultation to determine if Invisalign braces will meet their needs. Patients who are good candidates for this treatment are generally in good health. Those experiencing gum disease or tooth decay will likely need these issues treated and closely monitored to ensure that orthodontics does not exacerbate the problem.

Your custom aligning trays are fabricated based on impressions of your teeth and are designed to fit snugly at each stage of the realignment process. You switch aligner trays every two weeks until your treatment is complete. The best part of the process is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth. Treatment time is between 9 and 15 months, as each patient differs.

7 Most Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign®

    1. What is Treatment with Invisalign?

Invisalign involves wearing clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. The Invisalign system uses pinpointed pressure to align teeth instead of metal wires and brackets.

Invisalign uses three-dimensional computer imaging to show the entire treatment plan, from your smile's current alignment to your desired position. This technology creates a series of clear aligners that are custom-made for you. Each tray is designed to move teeth gradually in increments by wearing each set for two weeks. They are then replaced throughout your treatment until the final position is achieved.

Typically, the most discomfort will happen when you receive a new set of aligners every two weeks. This is common and is generally described as a slight feeling of pressure. This means your Invisalign treatment is working!

The Invisalign system requires patients to wear their aligners for up to 22 hours daily, only removing them during eating, drinking, and oral hygiene. Because of this, Invisalign is often recommended to responsible teens and adults who will more likely comply with the treatment requirements.

No. Because your clear aligners are removable, you may continue to eat your favourite foods and enjoy refreshing beverages regularly! However, it is essential to stay diligent about your oral hygiene, remain conscious about your food choices, and avoid or limit certain lifestyle choices, such as smoking and consuming alcohol.

Like all orthodontic solutions, Invisalign aligners may temporarily alter your speech as your tongue gets used to the clear trays inside your mouth. However, any lisp caused by your aligners should phase out naturally as time goes by.

Invisalign typically requires you to visit your dentist every four to six weeks to ensure your smile straightens correctly. This also helps our dentist monitor the progression of your treatment.
